Introducing Coal, our new black sire

This male will be 8 months old in a couple of weeks and around May he will be put with our females as they come into their heat cycles.  That group of girls consists of 2 chocolates; Jalapeno and Cayenne, 2 yellows; Belize and Sunny followed by our black female, Sonora. The above picture of ‘Ray of light hits Coal’, was taken when he was 9 weeks old.

As it looks right now if all of the stars are aligned correctly, we should be getting some puppies in July and August.  Only time will tell.  I will do my best to keep you notified as to what is taking place here.

Presently, we have 3 lists of families looking for pups with those lists made up of folks wanting Yellow, Black and or Chocolate puppies.  If you are interested in a pup, please give me a call (575-418-8191) or email Al Hansen alhansenlabs@gmail.com.

Here’s our newest pup, actually a larger pup now.  When we picked him from the litter he passed the submissive test with ease.  Guess what?  He is a great lap dog and still loves being on my lap early in the morning if I happen to be watching tv.  Coal has a background of not only black but on one side of his family is a great looking group of chocolates.  His black grandpa on his mother’s side carries yellow and chocolate.  We are very excited to see what will take place this summer when our females begin having their pups.

Then the following pictures will follow his growth stages until now, which is March 11th, 2022.

Available Pups!

Sonora, our black female, had a litter of 11 pups. We have 3 black FEMALES and 3 yellow FEMALES available at this time. They just turned 2 weeks old today,12-30-20.
The pups will be ready to go to their new homes after being picked, on Saturday morning, February 6th of 2021. They will be 7 1/2 weeks old. These pups should make some great family dogs. Mom is very laid back, however, if you like tossing a tennis ball for fun, I will bet you wear your arm out before your pup gets tired! She is a fantastic retriever with lots of drive. Sonora has the ability to turn it off and on depending on where she is.
We sell our pups for $800.00 + state tax. If you are interested in one of our females, please call 575-418-8191.

Chip and Belize pups!

Chip and Belize had an all yellow litter of 6 pups back on July 2nd. It was made up of 4 males and 2 females. Mom did a great job raising her pups and now Bev and I are lonesome once again.

We had 2 males and 1 female stay in the state of New Mexico. Another male was picked up by his new family from Tucson, AZ. The 4th male is now in San Jose, CA. Then we had a female who is now in Fort Collins, CO.

I was very pleased to know that two of the males will be used as duck hunting dogs. Chip is my hunting dog and I still love to get out once in a while to hunt ducks. That is something that I have been doing since 1954.

There are no females pregnant at this time.
